FOUNDATION

About Us

Founded in 1997 by members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.'s Delta Delta Lambda Chapter,  the Alpha Educational Foundation – DDL, Inc. is an independent nonprofit organization built on the belief that education, mentorship, and community investment are the foundations of lasting change.

The Foundation works across three areas. In youth development, we mentor young men through high school and award annual college scholarships to local graduates. In community education, we partner with national organizations to deliver workshops that help young men make informed decisions about their health, relationships, and futures. In community service and capacity building, we distribute food to hundreds of local residents weekly and provide space, resources, and support to help other nonprofits grow their programs and deepen their reach.

 

Operating out of Riviera Beach, the Foundation has built a physical home for this work — a community center named in honor of the trailblazing local judge, the Honorable Edward Rodgers, whose life embodied the same values of justice and service the Foundation was built on.

Vision

Our vision is to foster a world in which every individual has the opportunity to pursue their educational dreams without financial constraints. We aspire to cultivate a generation of enlightened, informed, and skilled African-American males who contribute meaningfully to their communities and the world at large. 

Mission

The mission of the Alpha Education Foundation of Delta Delta Lambda Chapter (AEFDDL) is to uplift and empower underprivileged students by providing them with the necessary educational resources to propel them to higher education. We are committed to breaking down financial barriers to education, aiming to make quality education not a privilege, but a right for all with a focus on African-American Males.
